DHL turned 50 in 2019, a significant milestone that deserved a fitting celebration.

We needed a new story to engage fans on and off track to mark the occasion and celebrate DHL’s 40+ years of delivering motorsport globally. Inspired by the DHL Fastest Lap, the 50 Fastest concept was created – a competition to unearth the 50 fastest drivers and racing fans across the world.

With the rise of esports DHL saw an opportunity to bring the physical and digital worlds of F1 even closer.

In collaboration with F1 & Codemasters, DHL developed 50 Fastest, giving aspiring drivers around the world the opportunity to go from their bedroom to a professional Esports Team contract. Fans were challenged to set their ‘Fastest Lap’ with the top six drivers qualifying for the Pro Formula 1 Esports team draft, and perhaps their shot at the big time.

DHL 50 Fastest recruit, Daniel Shields, astonished everyone being drafted by reigning Champions Mercedes-AMG Petronas, proving DHL can make dreams come true.
