DHL’s mission for Rugby World Cup 2019 was to engage rugby fans globally and build on their long legacy in the sport.

‘Moments that Deliver’ was DHL’s overarching positioning for all its sponsorships. So the brand set itself the ambition to connect with fans through emotional moments on and off the rugby pitch before, during and after the tournament.

#EpicMoments, a global integrated campaign with an iconic visual identity was created and rolled out globally.

Epic by nature, the campaign gathered pace over 12 months, starting with the altruistic #EpicJourney of two brave adventurers cycling from London to Tokyo. Momentum continued with digital #EpicDelivery UGC competitions and stadium activations, #EpicExperience grassroots matches, and culminated in vote for your #EpicMoment of the tournament. In Japan, DHL global customers attending were hosted by an #EpicSquad of rugby legends. The campaign won the hearts and minds of fans and employees globally.

DHL’s most Epic RWC campaign to date – activated in 50+ countries, over 14 million engagements across digital and €120k+ raised for international grass roots rugby.
