Tata Communications has kick-started an exciting new digital era for European golf fans.

As the Official Global Connectivity Supplier of the PGA European Tour, Tata Communications have an exciting stage to showcase their latest technologies by helping the European Tour revolutionise their fan experience. In 2019 Tata wanted to start conversations with B2B technology start-ups and position themselves as a brand that enables innovation.

The Innovation Hub was born as a competition for tech start ups with new ideas to bring fans closer to the game.

The high calibre submissions were judged by an expert panel who shortlisted 3 finalists. The finalists were invited to a week of workshops with Tata, European Tour and venture capitalists, culminating in a ‘Dragon’s Den’-style pitch. The winner Alugha (a multi-lingualisation company) has since launched a proof of concept which could revolutionise live broadcasts for golf fans.

The Hub received 65 high quality entries (+62% over target) and reached 1.6 million professionals leading to conversations between hundreds of new tech companies and Tata’s incubator teams.
